Phase I of the Natural Gas Installation was approved by MichCon and completed in 2000 andPhase II was completed in 2001.

Cost to tap into natural gas
To have your service line installed which covers your meter, manifold and up to 400 feet of service line (an additional per-foot charge is applicable for service lines exceeding this length.)
Prepayment of a $200 application fee, plus $1,988 one-time lump sum payment (or you may choose to pay a fixed monthly surcharge of $28.56 per month for a period of 10 years on your monthly gas bill (this monthly charge includes 12.04% interest.)
It is the owners responsibility to have the appliance converted to natural gas, which involves a separate cost. MichCon recommends that you obtain at least two estimates from a licensed contractor to do your conversion work.
